Plastics are designed to last forever, so plastic wastes are difficult to decompose,  with plastic straws taking up to 200 years to decompose. Over time, plastics become micro-plastics through UV ray, heat and wave energy. These micro-plastics can become food for sea organisms and eventually end up as ours.​
